1. The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books
We are avid readers here at Hausangeles, so it is no surprise that the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books would make our top five things to do this weekend.

2. Record Store Day
Vinyl is not dead! Record Store Day is quickly becoming a “must-attend” event in Los Angeles. Some local record shops will be offering in-store deals, live music and/or DJs, free food, and giveaways.

3. Neutra Earth Day Walk
Celebrate iconic Los Angeles Architect Richard Neutra’s 120th birthday and Earth Day this Sunday with a 4k-8k Walk/Run around the Silverlake Reservoir.
All proceeds will go towards causes of preservation, with special emphasis this year on ‘Saving VDL’.
$25-$40 Donation to participate

4. Urban Hikes: L.A. River
Join the Architecture & Design Museum for an urban hike along the L.A. River. This tour, in conjunction with A+D’s current exhibition Drylands Design, gives hikers the opportunity to learn about Los Angeles’ water scarcity issues and the river’s rich history.

5. Japanese Gardens at the Huntington
Take advantage of the fine weather we’ve been having and treat yourself to an afternoon in the lovely, newly renovated Japanese Gardens at the Huntington.
